Marquita Speed
Secretary

I’m a community‑focused leader with more than a decade of experience working at the intersection of health, wellness, and food access. With a background that blends culinary arts, nutrition education, and nonprofit leadership, I’ve dedicated my career to building programs that strengthen communities, expand equitable food access, and support families in living healthier lives.

Throughout my career, I’ve led large‑scale health and wellness initiatives, managed complex grants, and developed creative nutrition education programs for children and adults. I’ve overseen statewide collaborations, hosted a no‑waste cooking show, and supported multidisciplinary teams working to improve community health outcomes. I’ve also contributed to curriculum development and pilot implementation through consulting work focused on early childhood education and nutrition.

I’m passionate about partnership building, program design, and creating systems that help organizations increase their impact. In my board service, I focus on advancing missions that nourish, empower, and uplift families through dignified food access and strong community partnerships.

Outside of my professional work, I love to travel, explore new cultures, try foods from around the world, and find ways to bring people together through shared meals and experiences.
